DIY Men’s Body Wash

Today I am sharing a recipe for men’s body wash. My husband has jumped on the oily wagon and is constantly asking me to make different products for him. This fills me with happiness! So, I set about researching the different things he wants and order up some oils or just use what I have on hand.

Did you know a lot of soaps contain SLS, which is a chemical also used to remove car grease from garages??? Ready to go lather up now? Eek! For myself, I am using Young Living’s bar soap in the shower and love it! I made a Thieves foaming hand soap for around the house. (there is a post about that) So, now I wanted to try this special recipe for the hubby. I win major points when I make him things!

What you will need:
*Foaming soap dispenser
*1/2 cup distilled water
*1 cup Dr. Bronner’s liquid castile soap
*1 cup fractionated coconut oil (I got mine on Amazon)
*around 20 drops of essential oils (I used 10 drops Cypress and 10 drops Copaiba)
*1 tsp Kosher salt or Epsom salt
*Optional: 2 tsp vegetable glycerin or 1 tsp Vitamin E oil (helps moisturize, but not necessary)

Once you mix this all together, you can see what you think of the scent and add up to 10 more drops of essential oils to it. I went with the 20 just because I wanted it to have a slight scent, not smelling like he just walked out of the woods. 😉

Give it a try! One of the best ways to get husbands to love essential oils is to make things for them. They like the attention to detail with each item and then slowly start to appreciate the fact that they are no longer slathering themselves with toxic chemicals.

Tip: As it sits, it will separate- oil and water- so just give it a vigorous shake before each use

***I use Young Living essential oils. If you would like more information about why I chose Young Living, you are welcome to message me. 😉
